In 1917 Glen West, Jr. was born and in 1923 Marshall J. "Buster" West sold his 50% of the business to Gary & Vicki West in 1985, but remained as an advisor until his death in 1990. Today the business is operated by Gary West, son of Glen West, Jr. and his wife, Vicki and is the oldest funeral home in Buncombe County. Kay was a graduate of Southwestern High School and was employed 22 years as a clerical assistant at Mintonye Elementary School, where she loved all the students and her co-workers.

Thank you Wade Funeral Home for helping with my mom's funeral. These people really understand all you go through at these times, and they bend over backwards to help. They have handled both my Mother-in-Laws funeral and now my Father-in-Laws and I will recommend them to any and all who are in need. Thank you Wade Family Funeral Home, you are a God send. While this would not change my 5 star rating, some recommendations for improvement are easier photo upload on the website.
He is an amazing human being and I wish we had more people like Tony in this world, and I wish more businesses were run in the same manner. My most heartfelt appreciation to Tony and his staff at Cappetta's. Our family's heartache has been eased by your kindness and compassion.

I never once felt like it was just a job for them. That is hard to find these days and I want to thank them so much for the care they provided to our family. Tony helped me during the whole process from picking the days and times of the visitation, funeral and burial, to the casket and prayer cards, and even ordered our funeral lunch.
Plan Ahead
When Dad died on July 27th, Tony himself was the one who came to the nursing home to pick up Dad. When we had Dad's service, Tony was right there and handled every single thing, from the beginning to the end at the cemetery. He did more for our family than I ever imagined. Dad looked so handsome and they made him look like himself before he became ill. The funeral home is beautiful and comforting, a very peaceful place to honor your loved one. When I had to return to pick up Dad's death certificates, Tony reminded me that the street would be closed for the car show so I should come through the alley.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Mills Funeral Home, 301 Post Street, Boonville. From beginning to end Wade Funeral Home did a wonderful job. When they picked her up they had her in this beautiful blanket, combed her hair back . They were comforting and helpful with helping me make decisions.
She was an active member of the West Point United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s group. Kay enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was so very proud of each of them and thoroughly enjoyed their activities. She also enjoyed day trips and was always up for an adventure.
They gave me all the pricing up front and exactly what would need to be paid and when. They helped with calling the insurance companies, emailing and faxing any paper work that was needed. They also helped with contacting the Creek Indian Burial Social Services. That was less things and calls I had to deal with. Their staff is excellent and I can't say this enough, they were very helpful during this time of grief for me and my family. Thank you Wade Funeral Home for making this experience good.
He was a longtime member of South Union Mennonite Church, West Liberty, where he served as church Treasurer for 17 years and he also served on the church council for 6 terms.
